The Last Breath on Orchard Street

£12.00

There is horror all around; in the minds of men there are Angels and there are Daemons.

New York City, Summer 1935. In the cramped tenement blocks of the Lower East Side, the destitute, the lonely and the rejects, pray for an end to the starvation and hope for a rise in fortune.

The wealthy across the nation spectacularly and literally, fall from grace.

Molly Mathere is one such person, working for a pittance after a life of opulence, she is forced to her death in broad daylight by an invisible assailant.

Patrick Teller, documentary crime photographer, nightcrawler, first on the scene, can still hear her voice long after she dies. Troubled by Molly’s death, he sets off on a journey of his own to discover secrets that will cause the real world and the underworld to battle on the streets of his beloved town.

Katherine Rose Webster, a beautiful Pinkerton’s Detective, with secrets of her own, is assigned to the case by an unknown benefactor.

With the help from an ageing cop, Teller and Katherine become the unlikeliest of partners; one straight-laced and by the book, the other, rough, ruthless and determined.

As the pair get close to unravelling the dark secrets of the mystery, Teller becomes the unlikely pawn in a power play between good and evil.

Clouds of war from the deepest shadows, between the forces of the Dark and the Light, have been threatening war for centuries.

That war has now begun, and New York City is the battleground.

Kindle version - £4.99 available here.
